I'm a Stay-at-Home Mommy to twin toddler girls. It's not all about them, but they are my life, so I will talk about them a lot.

A journey back in time....

My husband and I met in 2003. Well, at the end of 2003. Right when I was graduating with my BS in Elementary Education. We met on Yahoo Personals and hit it off right away. We met in person in January. Things got pretty serious pretty quickly. We spent practically everyday together in the summer and by November I moved in with him and he proposed at Christmas.

We got married April 8, 2006 and lived happily ever after......

Until we started to try to have a baby. Contrary to what you learn in HS sex ed, you don't always get pregnant from having sex. At least not in our experience. (Little tidbit, 1:8 couples struggle from IF) I'm not going to go into the long drawn out details of our ventures with dildo cams, sample cups, blood draws, endless needles, and all the wonderful joys of making a baby...

Basically we started TTC in 2007. I started charting my cycles and found I wasn't ovulating and had PCOS. No surprise really since I got my period every 60-90 days. In 2009 We started seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist. We learned that my husband has severe male infertility. That paired with my PCOS sent us directly to IVF. One cycle of IVF,  a chemical pregnancy, and two FETs later, we finally had not one but two babies.

Just with TTC, pregnancy was not easy. The first 24 weeks went off without a hitch, but at a routine U/S we found that my cervix was very short and I ended up on bedrest. I was a good patient and followed the doctor's orders, but three weeks later my cervix was even shorter, funneling, and I was have regular enough contractions to end up in the hospital for two weeks.

I was able to keep my girls cooking for another 6 weeks and on March 19th, 2011 at 35 weeks to the day, I delivered Nadia Josephine and Scarlett Grace just ten minutes apart. At 5 lbs 13oz and 5lb 7oz,  they were a healthy weight and had no breathing issues. Their only struggles were eating and only 12 and 10 days in the NICU.

So in a nutshell, that's my baby story. I am very excited to be celebrating my second Christmas as a mommy!

Welcome!

Oh Hai!! Welcome to my little corner of the interwebz. I'm Amber and this is my blog. (Duh) What's it about you ask? Who knows at this point. Nope, not even me. It's my 2nd attempt at keeping a blog. The first one I kept for quite some time. It was all about my journey of TTC, IF, and a high risk pregnancy. I did really great with it up until I got put on bed rest at 24 weeks. It was way to hard to spend any amount of time on the laptop laying down. After trying to re-bound  with twinfants, I realized it just wasn't going to happen. Now that I have toddlers, here I am to try again.

Now I think I will talk about a little bit of everything. From my life as a stay-at-home Mommy to twin girls to my ventures as a wanna be Martha Stewart - Betty Crocker - home organizing guru to random thoughts of everyday life.

I hope you stop in from time to time to see what interesting things I have to say, maybe even comment and give me a topic to discuss to help keep the ball rolling!
